Edward James

Edward (Eddie) James, age 77 of Canal Winchester, OH passed away on Tues. Oct. 17, 2017 at Zusman Hospice in Columbus, OH.  Edward was born on May 22, 1940 to the late George and Arta (Stubbs) James in Williamsport, OH.  Edward was a 1958 graduate of Williamsport High School and then graduated from Ohio University and received his Masters of Education from Ohio State University.  He was a long-time teacher and administrator in the Reynoldsburg City School District.    

Eddie is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ruthie (Hooks) James, son Cary (Susie) James of Lancaster, OH, daughter Leslie (Mark) Bamford of West Sussex, England; grandsons Alex and Andrew James, George Bamford; a great granddaughter Isabelle; a brother Ronnie James of Dayton, OH.

Eddie lived a full and abundant life marked by a devotion to God and family.  He loved his wife, Ruthie, and was dedicated to loving and caring for her every day.  He loved spending time with his family.  He spent many hours with his grandsons making maple syrup, keeping bees and enjoying the outdoors.  Eddie’s church family at Blessed Hope Bible Church was dear to his heart.   He loved spending time serving alongside them.  He also enjoyed woodworking.  We rejoice that Eddie is safe with his Savior in Heaven. 

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017 with Pastor Todd Hautala officiating at Blessed Hope Bible Church, 9941 State Route 752, Ashville, OH 43103.  Family will receive friends at the church from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 20, 2017.  Interment will follow the funeral at Springlawn Cemetery in Williamsport, OH.  For those that wish, donations may be made to :  American Cancer Society, Central Office-PWAY, 5555 Frantz Rd.
