Karl Porter Myers

Karl Porter Myers, age 81, of Circleville, Ohio and of Ashville, Ohio passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Riverside Methodist Hospital surrounded by his daughter, Candy, son Karl and Naomi and granddaughter Tika and great grandson Matthew Ford.  He was born May 2, 1936 in Ashville, Ohio to the late William C. and Rosa Payne Myers.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Ruth E. Myers; brothers, William, Johnny, Ralph, Harold, George, Orville and Russell Myers; sisters, Thelma Pennington, Rosemma Kitchen and Cleora Cordle.  Karl worked as a Core Maker for 30 years.   He loved to meet with all tof his deaf friends and he loved his family.  He had 4 children, Becky (William) Hawkins, Candy (Charles) McGowan, Karl (Naomi) Myers and Rona (Larry) Ison.  He loved fishing and he loved all of his grandchildren, Troy, Christopher, Charlie, Jay, Joeie, Tika, Chad, Tyler, Kelsey, and great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.  He is also survived by one sister, Susie Ayers of Circleville and one brother, Walter of North Carolina.  Family and friends may call on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville, OH 43103.  Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2017 with Interment following at Harrison Township Cemetery in South Bloomfield with Pastor Jim Ferrell officiating.  Online condolences can be made at olivercheekfuneralhome.com
