William H. Browning Jr. died Saturday, Feb. 10 peacefully at his home with his family around him. He died of pancreatic cancer. He is preceded in death by his parents, William H. Browning Sr. and Helen (Page) Browning, his brothers Robert (Charlotte) and Lawrence. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary (Wrasman); his children William (Micky) Browning, Christopher (Loretta McCoy) Browning, Teresa (David Turner) Browning, Margaret (Greg) Fenner, and Michael (Bobbie) Browning; his grandchildren Kim Pettit, Lindsay Browning, Scott (Allison) Fenner, Andrew (Hattie) Fenner, Rachel Fenner, Kaite McCoy, Kody McCoy, Amanda Browning, Marci Browning, Natalie Browning, Joshua Browning, and Adrian Turner; his great grandchildren Charlie Fenner, Audrey Fenner, Thompson McCoy, Riser McCoy, Emmilynn McCoy, and dozens of nieces and nephews.
Bill was a graduate of Scioto High School and attended Capital University. He retired from EI DuPont de Nemours in Circleville after 38 years, and was an usher at Ohio Stadium and St John Arena from 1956-1993. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Circleville. Bill founded the Walnut Little League, was an Honorary Member of the Teays Valley High School Athletic Hall of Fame, and a member of United Ford Owners. He enjoyed playing golf, going to car meets, watching the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Teays Valley Vikings, walking his dogs, and spending time with his family.
Calling hours will be Friday, Feb. 16 from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Oliver Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville, OH 43103 and his funeral mass with Father Ted Machnik will be on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 10 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 134 W. Mound St. Circleville, OH 43113.
