Betty L (Bowens) Kight

Betty L. Kight, 74 of Ashville, OH passed away on Monday, March 11, 2024 at Mount Carmel Hospital in Grove City, OH. Betty was born on October 5, 1949 to the late Charles and Sara (Alban) Markham in Oak Hill, OH.  She was a 1967 graduate of Jackson High School and had worked years ago in the former Chun King in Jackson and then for many years in food service at Scioto Downs. Betty enjoyed working with her flowers and gardening as well as cooking and baking.   

Besides her parents, Betty is preceded is death by son Richie Kight in 2002; brother Dave Bowens; sister Helen Woolum.

Surviving are her husband of 53 years Ronald; children Tucker Kight, Lynn Kight-Secrest (Brian); grandchildren Stephanie (Mike) Jessee, Jake Rundio, Lindsey and Jared Kight; numerous great grandchildren; special sister-in-law Kristy Bowens; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13th with Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 14th with Pastor David Bowens and Bryan Kight officiating at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville. Interment will follow at Harrison Township Cemetery, South Bloomfield.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
