Jennifer Sneed Obituary

Jennifer Drake Sneed passed from this earthly confine and reached out and touched the hand of God on February, 13, 2024 at The Wyngate of Circleville after years battling orthopedic issues and cancer.  She will be welcomed there by her son, Warren.

Jennifer was born May 19, 1944 to Robert Judson Drake and Marian Ault Drake in Akron, Ohio.  Her father worked for BF Goodrich and Jennifer spent her early years in Omaha, but her formative years in Memphis.  She graduated from White Station High School and matriculated to The Ohio State University where she graduated with a BA in History and a minor in French in 1966. Her dream to work for the US government in Washington DC was fulfilled and she worked for the CIA. She met her husband, Robert, at an Alpha Phi sorority function as a freshman, they were married in Akron on August 19, 1967.

Jennifer maintained a close relationship to her college sorority serving as an alumni advisor for chapters at Butler, DePauw and Ohio State Universities. She met many lifelong friends in her service who became affectionately known as the Aunts.

Her true calling was being a mother to two growing boys; maintaining beautiful homes at each stage of her life’s journey; and being a superb hostess and accomplished cook.

At each stage of her moves from California, Indiana, and Ohio she taught Sunday School and led Bible studies.  Her faith and love of history led her to organize the annual Patriotic Sunday service at the Circleville Presbyterian church.  She also served as a Berger Hospice volunteer and member of Friends of Berger.

She was pre-deceased by her parents and younger son, Capt. Warren B. Sneed.  She is survived by her husband Robert; her older son R. Drake Sneed, wife Leah, and their daughters Ellen and Marin; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Richard and Nancy Sneed; and daughter-in-law Nancy Hillison and her husband Joel.  Cousins include Mary Gail Korsmeyer, Larry Hall, David Drake, and Janet Purichia.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 18th at Village Chapel Church in Ashville, OH officiated by Pastor Kevin Pees followed by a reception.
