Opal M. (Hanshaw) Caudill

Opal M. Caudill, 80 of Circleville, OH passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 after a brief illness at OhioHealth Berger Hospital in Circleville.  She was born on September 6, 1943 to the late Wallace and Edith (Fraley) Hanshaw in Louisa, KY.  She was 1961 graduate of Louisa High School and had worked as a caregiver/STNA in the Alzheimer area at Monterey Care Center in Grove City.  Opal was a longtime member of Alder Chapel United Baptist Church.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking and picking berries.  She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with all her heart. 

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by husband James D. Caudill in 1989; siblings Janet Hanshaw and Frank Hanshaw.

Opal is survived by children Opal Lynnette Caudill of Circleville, Charles W. (Jayme) Caudill of Amanda, Teresa (Joe) Ott of Circleville, H. Dewayne (Mary) Caudill of Ashville and Jason (Kathy) Caudill of Pataskala; grandchildren Josh (Stacy), Amanda (Marty), Jessica (Josh), Joey (Mia), Makayla, Brianna, Jimmy (Jessie) and Austin (Savannah); siblings Patsy Meyers, Greta Stevens, Martha Sparks, Homer (Tammy) Hanshaw, Elaine (Frank) Adkins and Joe (Patty) Hanshaw; numerous great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 25th with Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 26th at Alder Chapel United Baptist Church, Morgan Rd. West Jefferson, OH with Elder Charles Smith and Elder Jonathon Lykins officiating.  Graveside Service will follow in Lawrence County, KY at Fairchild Lemaster Cemetery.  Arrangements and Care of Family entrusted to Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, Ashville, OH.
