Alberta F. Bowen

Alberta F. Bowen, 77 of Berryville, VA passed away on Thurs. May 30, 2019 at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA.

Mrs. Bowen was born Alberta Faye Justice on April 18, 1942 to the late Carl and Martha Justice of Pikeville, KY.  

Alberta was adored and an inspiration to all those who knew her.  She was an amazing daughter, sister, mother, wife, grandmother, aunt and friend.  Alberta’s strong faith, strength and will power helped her overcome many health obstacles.            

She genuinely loved everyone deeply.  Her positive attitude and infectious laugh would fill the room.  She will be missed as deeply as she was loved.  Go rest high on that mountain with your Father.

Alberta is survived by her daughters, Christina (John) Corder of Berryville, VA and Monica (Mitchell) Worrell of Grove City, OH; son Floyd (Hope) Griffith Jr. of Gulfport, MS; brother, J.D. (Georgeana) Justice of Flint, MI; sister, Lorena Lamb of Youngstown, OH: 11 grandchildren, Brandon, Michael, Carrie, Erica, Coty, Mysti, Shelbee, Kaitlyn, Kimberlynn, Chloe, and Aubrey; 12 great grandchildren, and several beloved sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Alberta is preceded in death by her grandparents, Laura and David Ramey; husband, Lester Dale Bowen; 1st husband and father of her children, Floyd “Buddy” Griffith; brothers, Harold Dean, Gene, Charles, Bobby, Clayton.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 4th from 6-8 pm with VFW Ladies Auxiliary Service at 8 and  Funeral Service at 10 a.m. on Wednesday June 5th at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville, OH 43103 with Bryce Justice officiating.  Interment will follow in Harrison Twp. Cemetery in South Bloomfield, OH.
