Charles E. Stewart, 81 of Ashville passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 1:12 a.m. at OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, OH. Charles was born on Dec. 13, 1936 to the late Charles E. Sr. and Kathryn Irene (McCabe) Stewart in Columbus, OH. Charles was a 1956 graduate of West High School in Columbus and had an Electronics Degree from DeVry Tech. College and had owned and operated Stewart TV Service in Pickaway County. Charles served in the US Army Security Agency from 1956-1960. He was an avid bicyclist, jogger and loved to travel. One of his adventures with Annemarie was traveling through Europe on a tandem bicycle.
Charles is survived by his wife of 58 years Annemarie (Kern); children Stefanie C. (Randy) Wharton of Ashville, Erika K. Stewart of Palmetto, FL, Kurt (Brandy) Stewart of Ironton, OH; grandchildren Caylin E. (Jason) Shepard of Roanoke, VA, Kendell M. (Steve) Miller of Ashville, OH and Braden L. Stewart of Ironton, OH; great grandchildren Suede and Isley Sheperd of Roanoke, VA, Lily I. and Knox A. Miller of Ashville; sister Barbara Riddle; numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Charles was also preceded in death by sisters Patricia A. Rockwell, Charlotte P. Frame and Kitty Lou Stewart.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation or service. A private family gathering and burial will take place at a later date at Reber Hill Cemetery.
