George N. Sharp 77 of Ashville, passed away on Wed. Jan. 23, 2019 at Berger Hospital, Circleville. Born March 11, 1941 in Beech, WV to the late Haymen J. and Daisy E. (Bennington) Sharp. George retired from South Western City Schools after 21 years in maintenance and also had work for Westinghouse in Columbus. A veteran of the U.S. Army during Vietnam , he was stationed in Germany as an Airborne Trooper and worked in Intelligence. He was a graduate of Matewan H.S. in WV and was a member of American Legion Post 144.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Patricia J. (Pennington); children, Tonya (Mike) Kuhn of Columbus, Robin (Donnie) Seymour of Pickerington, Lisa (Mark) Arms of Soddy Daisy, TN, and Shawn (Shannon) Clegg of Circleville; grandchildren, Trent and Trevor Kuhn, Adam Lanthorn, Danielle (Lee) Krumlauf, Lindsey Arms, Alli (Roy) Arney, Jondah Danner, Destiny Clegg, Sarah (Shawn) Schleppi, Isaac Clegg, and Timothy Clegg, USAF; 13 great grandchildren; sisters, Ruby Clay and Hazel Perkins both of Columbus; niece and nephews, Debbie Collier, Robert Clay, Jesse Perkins, and Jeff Perkins.
Funeral Service 1:00 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, 2019 at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville with Perry Fausnaugh officiating. Interment will follow in Harrison Twp. Cemetery, So. Bloomfield. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. For those who wish memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
