Jean (Hancher) Schiff

Jean Schiff, 90, of Ashville, OH passed away on Friday, December 28, 2018 at her residence.  Jean was born on July 10, 1928 to the late Clarence and Lois (McPherson) Hancher in Pickaway County, Ohio.  Jean farmed with her late husband Dale and drove a school bus for Teays Valley School District for 16 years. She was also a member of The Pythian Sisters in Ashville for over 60 years. 

Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death in 1990 by husband Dale, a sister Mildred Stauffer and brother Clarence “Buck” Hancher Jr.  

Jean is survived by sons Michael Schiff and David (Molly) Schiff, both of Ashville; grandchildren Mark (Tara) Schiff of Hamilton, Jenny (Matt) Patterson of Ashville, Josh of Ashville, Matthew Schiff (Max Kelerstein) of NYC and Meghan Schiff of Circleville; great grandchildren Sydney, Josey, Braley, Eli, Hannah and Logan; twin sister Jane Winfough of Circleville; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 4, 2019 at the Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville with  Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. on Sat. Jan. 5, 2019 with Chaplain James Ross officiating.  Interment will follow at Harrison Township Cemetery in South Bloomfield, OH.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Fairhope Hospice, 282 Sells Rd. Lancaster, OH 43130.
