Michael Foster Obituary

Michael W. Foster, 78 of Circleville, OH passed away on Tuesday morning, April 24, 2018 at Our Family Home in Worthington, OH.  He was born on July 14, 1939 to the late H.L. and Mabel L. (McCann) Foster in Pike County, Ohio.  Mike was a 1958 graduate of Rarden High School and was a member of the Village Chapel Church in Ashville and before building their home in Circleville, they attended SBUMC near where he raised his family in South Bloomfield and were blessed by so many good friends and neighbors.  Mike was always on the go helping, fixing, mowing and always talking.  He loved people and had an infectious way that people wanted to enjoy his company.  Mike was a very happy man, friend to many, dedicated to his family and mostly to God. Mike was a member of Ralph Rickley Masonic Lodge since 1970.  Mike started barbering in the 60’s and enjoyed over 50 years of cutting hair.  He was the owner of “Mike’s Barber Shop” on So. High St. in Columbus where he truly loved his customers and enjoyed sharing in their lives and especially hearing and making laughter.  He found it most important to care for his customers when they were ill; he frequently stopped by hospitals, funeral homes or home bound to give them a haircut and words of encouragement.  Mike enjoyed traveling with his family and special friends, loved his old Fords and was so very proud of his children and grandchildren, great grandchildren.  He will always be remembered as a faithful friend and a blessing to his family.

Mike is survived by his wife of 57 years Sandra S. (McCoy) Foster and his children that have great respect and fondness for him, daughter Pamela (Steven) Smith of Circleville and son Kevin (Tammy) Foster of Granville.  He is also survived by loving grandchildren Chelsey (Nathan) Boltenhouse, Anna (Gary) Horne, Nate (Kayleigh) Smith, Sam Smith, Aubrey Smith, Meredith Foster and Ellie Foster; brother Anson (Bonnie) Foster; sisters Madge E. (Dave) Perdue, Mona G. King and Bonnie Dunn, sisters-in-law Essel Foster and Paula Perry; brother-in-law and sister-in-law George H. and Stephanie McCoy; many nieces and nephews; daughter-in-law Brenda Garrett.

Along with his parents, Mike is preceded in death by son and daughter-in-law Craig and Sandy Foster, grandson Nick Foster, sister Sara Hatfield and brothers Garl, Richard and Kenneth.
