Nick was quiet, compassionate, kind hearted and had a great sense of humor. He also struggled with depression for nearly half of his life. Often times, his vibrant personality was hidden under this shadow. On a daily basis, Nick worked hard to overcome these challenges, but the impact of this illness led him to take his own life. We are forever proud of Nick and love him endlessly.
Depression is all-consuming, and it’s okay to recognize and discuss the significant impacts and realities. If you see someone struggling, show them kindness. If someone needs a friend – step up and reach out to them. Most importantly, if you face these types of challenges, don’t be afraid to ask for help. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations on Nick’s behalf be made to the Behavioral Health Program at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 16810 Columbus, Oh 43216-6810 or you can visit Nationwidechildrens.org/Giving.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sat. Feb. 24, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church of Granville, located at 110 W. Broadway, Granville, Ohio. Online condolences to olivercheekfuneralhome.com
