Paul Dean Hickman

Paul Dean Hickman, 84 of Ashville, OH passed away on Jan. 18, 2018 at Mt. Carmel West in Columbus, OH.  Paul was born on Oct. 18, 1933 in London, OH to the late Clyde O. and Alyce A. (Jinkens) Hickman.  Paul was a graduate of Ashville-Harrison High School and was in the grocery business for over 50 years. He co-owned Ashville IGA and Lancaster IGA for many years.  Paul was a member of Lockbourne F& A.M. and Knights of Pythias.

Along with his parents, Paul is preceded in death by his wife Vivian L. “Bib” (Stebelton) Hickman, a son Tim Hickman, brother Bill who he owned the IGA with, sisters Gloria June Ward and Barbara Ford and nephew Jerry.  

Paul is survived by daughter Teresa (Rich) Foehl of Gahanna; grandchildren Sarah (Brandon) Hartley and Greg Foehl, Daniel (Tammy) Hickman, Jenna and Ashlyn Hickman; daughter-in-law Kelly Hickman; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of special friends.

Paul’s request was for cremation to take place.  The family will receive friends on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. with Memorial Service to follow with Rev. David Dilger officiating at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville, OH 43103.  The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to:  Ashville Food Pantry, 94 Long St. Ashville, OH 43103 or Capital Area Humane Society (where he adopted his loyal friend Teena) 3015 Scioto Darby Executive Ct.
