Thomas Mitchell Vaughn Jr.

Thomas (Tom) Mitchell Vaughn Jr., 69 of Ashville, OH went to be with the Lord Sat. Nov. 24, 2018 at his residence.  Tom was born Sept. 28, 1949 in Minneapolis, MN to Thomas Mitchell and Mildred Lee (Morris) Vaughn Sr.  Tom was a 1967 graduate of Raytown High School in Missouri and attended Central Missouri State College.  He worked for the Raytown Police Dept. from 1966-1971.  Tom began his career with Kenworth Truck Manufacturing, Kansas City, MO in 1971 and was transferred to the Chillicothe OH plant in 1975 and retiring after 43 years in 2015.  Tom was a faithful member of Village Chapel Church where he enjoyed helping with the Operation Christmas Child project each year.  Tom liked to travel and especially loved going to lunch with his Kenworth buddies.  He had a compassionate heart for others. 

Tom is preceded in death by his parents and sister Betty Lowe.  Tom is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Debbie S. (Jeffries) Vaughn; sons Rick (Lisa) Finney of Lancaster, OH, Jeremy (Jennifer) Vaughn of Barre, VT and daughter Kristi (Dr. Jason) Hostutler, Bejing, China; grandchildren Shelby (Janson) Bennett, Bradly (Bo) Finney (Andrea), Avery Hostutler and Simon Hostutler; great grandchildren Peyton and Lincoln Bennett; sisters Sharon (Richard) Sherman of Fargo, ND, Linda (Jimmy) Stewart of Camdenton, MO; several nieces and nephews; extended family Shane and Jenna Bigham, Chase, Chelsea and Millie Bigham.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Wed. Nov. 28th at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville, OH 43103 with Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. on Thurs. Nov. 29th at Village Chapel Church, 30 Viking Way, Ashville, OH 43103 with Pastor Kevin Pees officiating.  Interment will follow at Hitler-Ludwig Cemetery in Circleville.   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: American Cancer Society, Central Office-PWAY, 5555 Frantz Rd.
