Albert E. Johnston 87 of Ashville passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Logan Elm Health Care, Circleville. He was born on Oct. 14, 1927 in Circleville, OH to the late Harold and Blanch (Steinhouse) Johnston. Albert retired as a maintenance supervisor from DuPont in Circleville after 31 years . He also served his country in the U.S. Army, was a graduate of Ashville-Harrison H.S. Class of 1946, and was the Mayor of Ashville from 1980 until 1987. He enjoyed taking care of the yard and working with his flowers as a past time. He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 62 years, Joan (Hollenback) on Dec. 19, 2008 and a son Rick Johnston . Survived by daughter Connie Kuhlwein of Ashville; son Dan (Susan) Hollenback of Grove City; grandchildren, Kevin (Jennifer) Kuhlwein of Lewis Center, Chris Kuhlwein of Findlay, OH, Holly (Neal) Myers of Missouri; great grandchildren, Katie, Alyssa, Courtney, Christian, Morgan, and Bryce; brother Dale (Roberta) Johnston of Grove City; sister Joanne (Bob) Hamilton of Clarksburg; numerous brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. on Thurs. March 12, 2015 in the Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville with Chaplain Jim Ferrell officiating. Interment will follow in Harrison Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wed. from 5-8p.m. at the funeral home. For those who wish contributions may be made to the Harrison Twp.
