Bernice L. McClure, 81 of Orient, OH passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. She was born on September 7, 1943, to the late Edward and Dorothy (Propps) Syner in Winona, WV. She retired from Ohio Bell (Ameritech) after 35 years of service. She attended Creekside Church in Galloway and was a member of the Commercial Point Ladies Auxiliary and the Telephone Pioneers of America. Bernice loved watching anything her 3 granddaughters were involved in always encouraging them.
In addition to her parents, Bernice is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years Harley McClure, stepson Ronald McClure, step grandson Johnathan McClure and sisters-in-law Wanda Syner and Janet Syner.
Bernice is survived by her daughter Susan (Daryl) Lange; grandchildren Mackenzie (Jay) Reinhart, Makayla Lange, and Kassidy Lange; brothers Clarence “Fuzz” Syner, Carl “Cricket” Syner, Johnny (Debbie) Syner, sisters Betty Teagle, Carol Jean (Keith) Ewing; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Bernice’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at the Commercial Point Community Men’s Club on Saturday, February 8, 2025 from 2 pm to 6 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Commercial Point Women’s Auxiliary, 141 Walnut Creek Dr. Commercial Point, OH 43116.
