Betty J (Lanman) Smith

Betty Jane Smith of Ashville, age 92, passed away at Pickaway Manor Friday, April 8, 2016 in Circleville, Ohio.  She was born to the late Phillip and Gertrude (Hampson) Lanman in Ashville, Ohio.  Betty was a graduate of Walnut School and member of Hopewell United Methodist Church, Ashville Pythian Sisters, and Pickaway Senior Center.  She was a homemaker and worked the farm alongside her husband Nolan Smith, who preceded her in death in 1991, also preceded by daughter Vicki Berry, brother Phil Lanman, and sisters Frances Smith and Carolyn Young.  Betty was a loving wife and mother and is survived by children Michael (Delores) Smith of Circleville, Richard (Kristy) Smith of Lockbourne, Robert (Cheryl) Smith of Kingston, Phyllis (Robert) Deppe of Ashville, and Pamela Smith of Upper Arlington, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and sister-in-law Susie Lanman of Grove City.

The family will receive friends Sunday 4-7pm at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home 420 W. Main St. Ashville, OH 43103.  Funeral will be held Monday 11:00am at the Funeral Home with Rev.
