Bobbie Carol Hothem, of Ashville, OH passed on August 22, 2015, in her home. She was born January 17, 1948, in Columbus, OH to late Thomas D. and Grace Rathmer (Murphy) Adkins. Bobbie retired from OSU where she worked as a nurse. She had previously worked for St. Anthony/Mercy Hospital, Columbus Community, and Berger Hospital. She served prior to that on the Harrison Twp and Circleville EMS as a paramedic and a member of The Ohio Association of Emergency Medical Services.
Bobbie had her nursing degree from Columbus State (1982) and graduated from Groveport Madison (1966). She was a dedicated member of Cornerstone Christian Church, Circleville.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband Darrell E. Hothem, granddaughter Isabella Roberts, and grandson Christian Battle. She is survived by her children Tamara Battle (Rich Dent) of Stoutsville, William (Bill) E. Hothem of Columbus, and Lorena (Oliver) Roberts of Reynoldsburg; grandchildren Shelby Battle of Columbus and Noah Roberts of Reynoldsburg; sisters Pat (Bob) Featheringham of South Bloomfield, Karen Catron of Columbus, Bonnie (Mike) Seeger of Columbus; numerous nieces and nephews; good friends Steve (Jill) Welsh, John (Teresa) Demjen, and numerous church families.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 and 5-8 Thursday, August 27th at the Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville, Ohio 43103. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00am Friday, August 28th at The Cornerstone Christian Church 1565 N. Court St. Circleville, Ohio 43113 with Pastors William Pellum and Jeff Zimmerman officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Harrison Township Cemetery. The family requests in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Lifeline of Ohio in memory of Christian Battle, 770 Kinnear Rd. Suite 200, Columbus, Ohio 43212 or to Cornerstone Christian Church in memory of Bobbie Hothem.
