Charles Verlyn Bailey, age 92, of Ashville passed away on October 4, 2025. Charles was born on October 16, 1932, in St. Charles, VA to the late William T. and Estell J. (Johnson) Bailey. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War as a Senior Master Sergeant, retiring from the Ohio Air National Guard stationed at Rickenbacker AFB after 27 years. Charles was a die-hard Cincinnati Reds fan and an avid ham radio operator.

In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded, less than one month ago, by his wife of 66 years, Ruth LaFern Bailey; their son, Steve Bailey; brother, Joey Bailey; brother-in-law, Clayton Pendleton.

Charles is survived by his daughter, Stefani (Jimmy) Johnson of Manchester, TN; grandchildren, Jesse (Maycee) Bailey, Jennifer McNutt, Abby (Eric) Keith and Emily (Brian) Gilliam; great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Dakota, Mariah, Alexiah, Alyssa, Kaisyn, Karsyn, Thomas and Annabelle; sister, Carol Pendleton and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will take place on Thursday, October 9 at 1:00 p.m. at Reber Hill Cemetery, 16810 Winchester Rd. Ashville, OH 43103 with son-in-law, Eric Keith offering words of comfort. Military service will be provided by Amvets Post 2256. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
