Charles G. Blankenship 77 of Ashville, passed away peacefully at home on Wed. March 9, 2016. He was born on May 31, 1938 in West Hamlin, WV to the late Seybert and Reba Mae (Cooper) Blankenship.
Charles was a co-founder of the former American Plastics Extruding in Columbus. He owned and raised horses for Harness Racing at the Scioto Downs, also known by his family as a Jack of all trades. He was preceded in death by sister, Thelma Jordan; brothers Eugene and Leo.
Survived by his wife 11 years, Connie S. (Miller) Blankenship; son, Charles E. (Christine L.) Blankenship; 2 grandchildren, Amy (Andy) Heimbach and Charles E. (Angela) Blankenship; 5 great grandchildren; step-son, Richard Miller; step-daughter, Pamela (Jon) Stapleton; 5 step grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren; sister Maxine (Albert) Hannon; sister-in-law, Mary Blankenship; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5- 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at the Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville, OH. Graveside Service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 14, 2016 with Pastor Gary Heimbach officiating at Reber Hill Cemetery, Ashville. The family request in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mt. Carmel Hospice 1144 Dublin Rd. Columbus, OH 43215.
