Charles R. “Chuck” Cordell, 80, of Circleville, and formerly of the Ashville area, passed away Thursday, Feb. 6, 2025, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. He was born on February 4, 1945, to the late Herbert and Betty (Thompson) Cordell. Chuck retired some years ago as a driver in the moving industry; however, it was his greatest joy and honor to serve his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era in the Chemical Corps. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing and spending time with his family and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by infant brother Herbie and sisters Cindy Cordell, Barbara (Richard) Stewart, and Brenda Curtis.
Survivors include brothers Johnny (Renita), Terry (Carol), Richard (Lorine), Ken (Tona), and sister Linda (Richard) West; special nephew and niece, Shane Cordell and Faith West; best friend Ralph Large; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and most of all, his beloved dogs Sammy and Tiny.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville with a Service on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with David Ralston officiating.
