Charles Rodney Cyrus Sr., 79, of Ashville passed away at Adena Medical Center after a lengthy battle with kidney failure. He was born Oct. 4, 1944 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Willard Garfield and Geneva May (Roberts) Cyrus. Rodney retired from O.S.U. in Columbus after many years working with sheet metal. He served his country during Vietnam in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed tinkering with old cars and loved his family. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Bob and a brother-in-law Darrell.
Survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Virginia L. Glick-Cyrus; children Beth (Kyle) Cyrus Geesaman, Charles Rodney II (Kathleen) Cyrus, Daniel (Danielle) Glick, Terry (Roger) Breech Burris and Gary (Christy) Breech; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Kay Adkins and Patty Cyrus; many nieces and nephews.
The family will have a Celebration of Life Gathering Sunday, May 19, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Rick Brown Post 7941 VFW 3301 Northup Ave. South Bloomfield.
