Charles Leroy Harris, 87, of Rushville, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. Charles was born in Ashville, Ohio on September 29, 1938, to the late Avery and Crete (McCallister) Harris.
Charles was a graduate of Ashville-Harrison High School and retired from Anchor Hocking after 25 years in maintenance and a former run millwright. He had also served 6 years in the National Guard. Charles enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating and camping and had traveled to 49 states. He enjoyed raising a garden and driving his tractors. He and his wife had attended First Baptist Church of Carrol. Charles was a proud and loving father, grandfather and great grandfather.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his brothers Rodney, Billy, and Arthur and sisters Rolene Nungester and Carletta Booth.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sharon Ann (Thompson) Harris; children, Terry (Albert) Parmer, Chris Harris, Beth Ann Harris, Jason Leroy (Kara) Harris and Linda (James) Helmick; grandchildren Paige (Brandon) Harris, Zakery (Eryka) Parmer, Kryn Parmer, Charles Avery (Karly) Parmer, Alexandra (Ivo) Martinovich, Olivia Gaines, Camyll Gaines, Sydni Harris, Kassydi Harris, and Halli Harris; sisters Nancy (Tom) Bausum, Iva Lynch, and Barbara Haywood. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and five great grandchildren Cohen Harris, Calven Harris, Zula Martinovich, Laili Wright, and Harper Parmer.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 12:00 noon until the time of the service at 2:00 PM at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main Street, Ashville, Ohio with Chaplain Don Harris officiating. Interment will follow at Harrison Township Cemetery, South Bloomfield. Online condolences at olivercheekfuneralhome.com.
