D. Yvonne Loar

D. Yvonne Loar, 78, of Commercial Point, passed away at home on Friday, May 9, 2025. She was born on September 25, 1946 in Columbus to the late, Carl and Lillian (Shade) McClurg. She was a graduate of Teays Valley High School after which she completed nursing school. She loved the Lord and was a preacher at Duvall Community Church. She enjoyed singing and playing the piano. Her favorite vacation spot was the mountains of North Carolina.

Yvonne was preceded in death by husband of 24 years, Ralph Loar; and daughter-in-law Sharee Loar.

She is survived by son, Aaron Loar; granddaughter, Yvonne Stout (John K); great grandchildren, Henry Stout, Claire Stout, Gracie Stout, Cody Stout, and Alexis Stout; brother, Montey McClurg; sister Lori Orr; numerous nieces, nephews, many other friends and family.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 15 at 1:00pm at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W Main St, Ashville. The family will receive friends the hour prior. Interment to follow at Reber Hill Cemetery, Ashville.
