David Lee Legg, age 75, of Circleville, OH passed unexpectedly at Berger Hospital on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. David was born October 3, 1950, in Circleville to the late Henry Lee and Dorothey Virginia (Detty) Legg. David proudly served in the United States Marines during the Vietnam conflict. Following his time in service to his country, David worked on the Parker farm in Whistler, Ohio. He had many other jobs as well, from working in the oil fields of Texas, to digging graves at Green Summit Cemetery during the Blizzard of 77 and 78, and later, working for Euro Trucking, hauling grain across the country.
David is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Anne Woodrum; his sister, Hazel Grabill; niece, Tammy Wurtzell and nephew, Jason Grabill.
He is survived by his daughter Davida and Chris Bangs of Dothan, Alabama; sons, Dwight Alan (Jeffrey Call) Karshner of Ashville, Clinton David of Little Walnut; daughter, Katrina Kelly (Gilbert Schaeffer) of Circleville; six grandsons, Dylan Bangs, Levi, Ethan, Skylar and Austin Karshner and Gilbert Schaeffer III; brother-in-law, Joseph (Joanne) Woodrum of Grove City; sister-in-law, Melissa (Nathaniel) Reed of Waverly, OH; daughter, Kristie Null; son, Bryan Georgie. Two granddaughters, Tasha and Angela Null; nephew Chad (Miranda) Grabill, goddaughter, Loretta Hartley of Vanceburg, KY; and many other nieces and nephews.
David was strong-willed and taught his children about hard work. He had strong convictions as well. He believed that there was a superior being, helping those in need, being brutally honest and if you were going to do something, do it right the first time, otherwise, don't do it at all. Our prayer is that he has been reunited with his beloved wife, Barbie, and they are strolling hand-in-hand after spending 18 years apart.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 13, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville, OH 43103. Interment will take place in Forest Cemetery, Circleville, OH at the convenience of the family.
