Deelinda (Lanthorn) Allen

DeeLinda Allen (64) of Ashville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2024 at home surrounded by family and friends, after battling cancer for a year. Dee was born in Columbus, Ohio to Alvin Lanthorn Sr and Nancy (Shrewsbury) Lanthorn.

DeeLinda graduated from Teays Valley High School after moving to the Ashville area with her family as a teenager.  There she met her future husband, Tom Allen (who knows he married up). Tom and DeeLinda spent the next 48yrs together.

It was after she became a mother of two baby girls, Tiffany (44) and Cassy (42) that DeeLinda found her true calling.   DeeLinda was not only a devoted and protective mother to her daughters, but also to many loved and adored nieces and nephews, and any other kid she could get her arms around.

Dee is preceded in death by her father Alvin, mother Nancy, beloved stepfather Ike, brother Lee, niece Amy, and often talked about nephew Derek.

Dee is survived by her fortunate husband Tom, admiring daughters Tiffany (John) and Cassy (Jesse), and grateful grandchildren Dylan, Bailee and Annie. Dee is also survived by her endearing sisters Debbie, Loretta, and Tammy (very special brother-in-law Joe), beloved nieces and nephews, valued cousins, and many cherished friends.

Dee clung to her faith in God and her love for all those that she adored and will live on in all those whom she touched.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 25th from 6-8pm at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home in Ashville Ohio.

Services, officiated by Pastor Kevin Pees of Village Chapel in Ashville, Ohio, will begin at 11am on Friday, July 26th at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home followed by burial at Fernwood Cemetery in Lockbourne, Ohio.
