Doris Lorraine Green, 90, passed away peacefully in her bed at home in Orient, Ohio on August 22, 2024. Doris was born on March 11, 1934 in Lancaster, Ohio to the late Albert and Chestine Poivre.

In addition to her parents, Doris is preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, William ‘Willi’ Green and the loving and nurturing Leslie and Georgia Melvin. As well as siblings Roger and Rodney (Joan) Crago, Roberta Weirather, Terry Melvin, and sister-in-law Nancy (Russell) Younkin, brother-in-law’s John Handley, Harold, Paul (Marjorie), Larry, and Denny Green, and Bill Hott.

Doris is survived by daughters Scarlett (Phil) Fox and Julie (Mike) Pettibone who cared for her until her last breath. She is also survived by grandchildren Jacqueline (Josh) Alphin, Jenny (Jarrod) Egan, Jill (Paras) Saxena, Liz Fox, and great grandchildren Claire Alphin, Levi Alphin, and Briggs Egan, siblings Marnna (Jim) See, Barb Handley, Kaye Hott, Melody Green, Candy (Billy) Rice, and Ted (Kay) Melvin, sister-in-law Sonnia Green, brother-in-law Don Weirather, and lifelong friend Jackie Writsel. She is also blessed to be survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Doris graduated from Scioto Township High School in Commercial Point, Class of 1952. Doris was a dedicated mother to her girls and an active farmer's wife helping taking care of their land, crops and animals with Willi. She also worked in restaurants at Beulah Park and Scioto Downs race tracks. In 1981 Doris obtained her real estate license and sold real estate for over 30 years. Willi and Doris were the owners of Green’s Carriage Restoration and Green’s Heritage Museum. In 1975, as part of America's bicentennial celebration, Green’s Heritage Days was started, and Doris & Willi continued for 25 years drawing folks in from all over the United States and local community to their property to enjoy historical artifacts, activities, food and community.  In 2010, American Pickers knocked on their door and they were featured on “American Pickers” season 1 for their various collections they built over the years. Doris and Willi enjoyed traveling the United States and have visited all 50 states bringing loved ones along on their adventures and making friends along the way. Over the years her hobbies included reading, water skiing, shopping and always having her nails done and hair set.

Visitation will be from 5-8 PM on Monday August 26, 2024 at Global Methodist on Main, 28 Main Street, Commercial Point with Funeral Service at 11am on Tuesday August 27, 2024 at Global Methodist on Main, with Pastor Brian Dunham. Interment will follow at Muhlenberg Township Cemetery in Darbyville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Commercial Point Free Store, 28 Main St., Commercial Point, OH 43116 or Scioto Township Fire Department 440 Walker Road Commercial Point, OH 43116
