Dorothy Mae (Ett) Cormany, 93 of Ashville, OH passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Wyngate Senior Living in Circleville, OH. She was born on September 16, 1931 in Walnut Township, Pickaway County, OH to the late Howard Heffner and Mary Malinda (Sark) Ett. A graduate of Walnut H.S. Class of 1949, she retired from General Electric in Circleville after 16 plus years and retired from Logan Elm as a study hall monitor. Dorothy, being raised on a farm, loved farming for her Dad for many years. She was especially proud that she taught Wilson and Allen how to cultivate corn. She also liked baling hay and straw, and cribbing ear corn in the fall. Dorothy attended Hedges Chapel CCCU in Ashville where, for over 30 years, she had perfect Sunday School attendance. A member of the Ashville Area Heritage Society where she volunteered as a curator and historian for many years. Volunteered for the Red Cross, member of the Pickaway Senior Center, ECL -Ladies Group, and dressed up as Santa Clause for 50 years.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Max Cormany and a brother Glenn Ett. Survivors include nephews Wilson (Lois) Ett and Allen (Cathy) Ett, niece Glenna (Kevin) Archer; numerous great nieces and great nephews, a host of great great nieces and great great nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home 420. W. Main St. Ashville from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Service at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Steve Palmer and Rev. Ron Reese officiating. Interment will follow in Reber Hill Cemetery, Ashville.
