Dorothy Ann Richard

Dorothy “Ann” Richard, 100, of Ashville, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at her home with her loving family at her bedside.

A lifelong resident of Pickaway County, Ann was born May 13, 1926, in Jackson Township, Ohio to the late Ralph and Rose (Davis) Peters. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Marvin I. Richard and a granddaughter, Tiffany Ann Reed; as well as eight sisters and two brothers. Ann is survived by six children, Diana (Terry) Reed of Ashville, Danny (Kay) Richard of Circleville, twins, Marlene (Charlie) Hone Port Charlotte, FL, Darlene (Rick) Pontius of Lancaster, Bill and Patrick Richard both of Ashville. Ann had thirteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Ann grew up in a little town called Fox in Jackson Township and moved to Ashville with her family where she finished her junior and senior years, graduating from Ashville High School in 1944. Ann went to beauty school and opened her shop in her home in July 1959. Ann was a beautician for over 65 years.

The Richard Family will receive family and friends on Thursday, August 13 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St, Ashville, followed by a funeral service officiated by Rev. Gary Richard. Interment will follow at Harrison Township Cemetery, South Bloomfield.
