Dorothy Mae (Winter) Hood

Dorothy Mae Hood, 93, of Circleville, Ohio went to celebrate with the Lord on Friday, June 7, 2024. She was born on May 20, 1931to the late Emmitt James and Pansey Ruby (Washington) Winter in Black Betsy, Putnam Co. West Virginia. Dorothy was a graduate of Nitro H.S. She had a love for her family that was indescribable as she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends. Throughout the years she enjoyed crocheting and gardening along with loving and caring for babies.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Robert Grant (Bob) Hood in 2008, daughter Dorline Danford in 2017, son Arthur Hood in 2021, son-in-law Pete Bethel in 2018, along with a host of brothers and sisters.

Dorothy leaves behind her children: Dottie Sayre of Ripley W.Va, Eugene (Cindy) Hood of Stoutsville, Sharon Bethel of Amanda, Robert (Lea Ann) Hood of Ashville, Garry (Linda) Hood of Columbus, Roger Hood of Circleville, Leola (Joe) Skowronek of Ashville, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and another on the way; son-in-laws Joseph Sayre and Brian Danford; daughter-in-laws Jackie Hood and Amy Hood Evans; sister Gladys Gabritsch, brother Danny and John Winter; along with numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.

Family and friends may call 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12th, with a Funeral Service on Thursday June 13, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with Roger Konkle officiating at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 West Main Street, Ashville, Ohio 43103.
