Elizabeth "Libby" A. (Burns) Thomas

Elizabeth “Libby” A. Thomas, 69 of Ashville, OH passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at O.S.U. Medical Center, Columbus, OH.  She was born on September 22, 1955 in Wheelersburg, OH to the late James W. and Phyllis Irene (Frame) Burns.  Libby was a graduate of Walnut Ridge H.S. Columbus.  She had retired from Teays Valley Schools in food service across the district for over 30 years.   She loved cooking and taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by brothers Jack, Tom, Jimmy, and sister Linda.

She is survived by her husband Ron of 51 years; daughter Christy (Christopher) Danison; grandchildren William (Brooklynn), Walker (Joy), Winston, and Chloe (Cody); great grandchildren, Ayden, Harper, Bradley, and Daisy; siblings Larry (Lisa) Burns, Karen Loughborough, Mark (Lois) Burns, Kathleen (Keith) Hatton; sisters-in-law Jill Burns and Ann Marie Burns; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Saturday. February 22nd at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville with a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 4:00 p.m.  In keeping with Libby’s wishes cremation has taken place.  The family request in lieu of flowers memorials can be made to: Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research, The Ohio State University Foundation, University Square North,14 E. 15th Ave., Columbus, OH 43201.
