Emery Fannin

Emery Fannin age  87 of Orient, OH went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015 at Riverside Hospital, Columbus.

He was born on Aug. 27, 1928 in Sandy Hook, KY to the late Frances and Goldie (Cox) Fannin.  Emery was a lifetime Farmer who loved the land.    He was a 1947 Graduate of Scioto Township High School and a 62 year member of Neoacacia Lodge 595 F.& A.M.  Preceded in death by his wife and high school sweetheart of 59 years, Margaret (Peggy) Davis Fannin in 2009.  Also preceded in death by brothers, Ivan Fannin and Rufus Fannin;  sisters Faye Fannin Miller and Lovetta Fannin Burns.

Emery is survived by his son Curtis (Karen)  Fannin of Ashville and daughter Barbara (David)  Groves of Tulsa, OK; a very special niece Lori (Art) Weaver of Circleville. Emery was blessed with 7 grandkids whom he deeply loved, Brandon (Cari) Fannin, Barton (Nichole) Fannin, Brooke (JT) Wright, Brent (Mallory) Fannin, David (Heather) Groves, Angel (Mark) Warren, and Daniel (Jackie) Groves; 12 great grandkids who were his pride and joy. Also survived by 2 brothers Willis Fannin of Circleville and Chandler (Faye) Fannin of Columbus; brother-in-law, Richard (Vi) Davis of Grove City; also numerous nephews , nieces, and friends.  He leaves behind many friends at his home at Brookdale Assisted Living in Grove City, OH and friends in Florida where they made their winter home for many years.

A Graveside Service will be held at  2:00 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 12, 2015 in Beckett Cemetery, Commercial Point, OH with grandson, Pastor Daniel Groves officiating.     In lieu of flowers the family request contributions in memory of Emery, be made to The Pickaway County Fair Ag Society Building Fund, 415 Lancaster Pike Circleville, OH 43113 or The Visitation Dept. of Grove City Nazarene Church c/o Owen Stots,  4770 Hoover Rd. Grove City, OH 43123.  A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.   Arrangements by Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, Ashville.
