Pat Gloyd Obituary

Florennia L. Gloyd of Ashville, affectionately known as Pat, passed away peacefully at home on March 14, 2024. Born November 7,1934 in Mt. Sterling OH, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Lorennia (Hiles) Freyermuth. Pat grew up in Pancoastburg OH and spent lots of time on her grandparents' farm.

In 1952 she married Ralph Gloyd and moved to Ashville. She worked at Ashville Elementary and then at Tink's restaurant in Circleville for over 30 years. She later became a caregiver and opened up her home to many children over the years. Pat was a friend to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Gloyd, sisters Janice (Freyermuth) Runkle and Mary Katherine Runkle, and brother Ronald Freyermuth.

Remaining to cherish her memory she leaves 6 children, Brenda (Gene) Bissell of Piketon, Cindy (Alex) Burke of Ashville, Dick (Sandy) Gloyd of Ashville, Bill (Teresa) Gloyd of South Bloomfield, Jim (Lisa) Gloyd of Ashville, and Shannon (Ernest) Peachey of East Liverpool; 14 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and two special nephews, Mike (Cindy) Runkle and Greg Runkle.

As per Pat’s request, no funeral or memorial services will be held.  Arrangements entrusted to Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, Ashville, OH.  Online condolences at olivercheekfuneralhome.com
