Frederick E. Acord

Frederick E. Acord, 77 of South Bloomfield passed away at home on August 31, 2018.  He was born on September 30th, 1940 in South Bloomfield, OH to the late Harold and Marcella (Roese) Acord.  Fred retired from Western Electric/ATT/Lucent in 1996 after 37 years.  He graduated from Ashville High School in 1958.  Fred enjoyed mowing, gardening and traveling.  Fred also enjoyed boating with family and friends.

Beside his parents Fred was preceded in death by his sisters Margaret (Acord) Robinson and Linda Acord, close neighbor Dan Belcher and his dog Dirk.

He is survived by his wife Patricia (Bibler/Duncan) Acord, mother-in-law Violet Bibler, sons Scott (Thecala) Acord of Ashville and David Acord of Ashville; step sons Mark (Bekki) Duncan of Florida and Chad (Jodelle) Duncan of Gastonia, NC; step daughter Lori (Eric) Zimpfer of Pataskala Ohio.   He is also survived by grandchildren Mariah (Chris) Long of Dayton, KY and Nicholas (Betsy) Acord of Ashville Ohio; step grandchildren Sidney (John) Cole, Zakary Duncan, Emma Duncan, Trey Duncan, Cade Duncan, Katelyn Zimpfer, Kaylee Zimpfer, Kenzie Zimpfer and Makenna Zimpfer; close neighbors Josh Grove and Donna Belcher.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staffs at Mount Carmel East and Berger Hospice.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018 from 4-8 p.m. at the Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville, OH 43103 with a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 5th at the South Bloomfield United Methodist Church, 5027 West 2nd Street, South Bloomfield, OH with Rev. Floyd Hubbell officiating.  Interment will follow in Harrison Township Cemetery.  Family request in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the South Bloomfield United Methodist Church.  Online condolences to olivercheekfuneralhome.com
