G. Kathern (Shupe) Casto

G. Kathern Casto, 93 of Columbus, OH passed away at home on Wednesday, August 3, 2022. Born on November 28, 1928 to the late Isaac and Sally (Morgan) Shupe in Meigs County, OH. She was a graduate of Bidwell-Porter High School and worked as an inspector for Robert Shaw for 7 years. She enjoyed her family, friends, collecting bibles, shopping, sudoku, writing poetry, reading, and anything chocolate. She was a member of Grove City Church of the Nazarene and served as a “Women of the Word” teacher for several years.

Besides her parents, Kathern is preceded in death by daughter Paula Kennedy; brothers Lewis, Willard, and Clarence Shupe; sister Mozelle Russell; sons-in-law Brant Kennedy and Phil Batten; sisters-in-law June Ann Shupe, Ruth Ann Shupe, Helen Shupe, and Mary Shupe; brother-in- law Nobel Russell.

Survived by husband of 75 years Paul; children Nancy (Steve) Miller, Willard (Judy) Casto, Delta Batten and Penny (Denny) Berger; grandchildren Michelle Roberts, Melissa Roberts, Becky Justice, Aaron Casto, Scott Casto, Andy Batten, Jamey Batten, Jeremy Berger, Heather Bruner, Chelsea Vermeesch, Tonda Kennedy Shaw, Kathryn Helwig, Elizabeth Messmer, and Lindsay Ortman; 28 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; brothers Isaac Shupe Jr. and Donnie Shupe.

Visitation will be on Monday, August 8 th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Owen Stotts officiating at Grove City Church of the Nazarene, 4770 Hoover Rd.
