Gary Dean Harber
June 20, 1943 — July 7, 2016
Gary Dean Harber, age 73, of Columbus, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Mount Carmel East Medical Center. He was born on June 20, 1943 in Ashville, Ohio, the son of the late Willard and Lucille (Hollenback) Harber. Gary worked for many years for Capital Spring in Columbus and served in the U.S. Army from 1965-1967 during Vietnam. He was also an avid fisherman, loved horse racing and crafting model airplanes. Preceded in death by his brother James. Gary is survived by his daughter, Dena (Travis) Chavis of Columbus; stepson, David (Amy) Vujaklija of Illinois; grandchildren, Kaylee and Travis Chavis Jr. and Nicholas, Emma, Elisabeth and Nathan Vujaklija, also many nieces and nephews. At Gary’s request, cremation will take place and no memorial service or calling hours will be observed. Burial will follow in Harrison Township Cemetery, So. Bloomfield at the convenience of the family.
