Gary K Wohnhas

Gary K. Wohnhas, 86 of Ashville, OH passed away at his residence after a brief illness.  He was born Dec. 7, 1936 to the late Paul and Gaye (Shreve) Wohnhas in Monroe County, Ohio. After graduation at River High School in Hannibal he went into the U.S. Army and worked in supply.   He was a member of Heritage Church of Christ of Ashville.  Gary had worked for Smith Transfer in Columbus for about 10 years and retired from the former (CF) Consolidated Freight until retirement, also was a member of the Teamsters Local 413 in Columbus.

He was preceded in death by parents, sisters Judy Wohnhas, Janice Brown, and Joan Beckett.

Survived by his wife of 65 years Shelvyjean I. (Lash); 3 sons, Ranie (Bonnie) of Catlettsburg, KY, Monte (Joan) of Lubbock, TX, and Gary Lee (Kathy) of London, OH; brothers Paul Delano “Buzz” of Jenks, OK, Max of Woodsfield, OH; sister Josehine Brown (Guy) of Sardis, OH;

grandchildren Jason K. (Stephanie) of Venice, FL, Jason N. of Modesto, CA, Ryan (Noelle) of Lawrenceburg, KY, Alea of Grove City, OH, and Kylie of Circleville, OH; 7 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 25, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville, OH 43103.  Burial will take place at the convenience of the family at West-Union Cemetery in Monroe County, OH.  The family request in lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Gary may be made to: Heritage Church of Christ, 30 Church St. Ashville, OH 43103.
