Gary Joe Young went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 24, 2015, at Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, OH.  He was born October 13, 1941 son of the late Mabel (Amon) and Ezra Young.  He graduated from Peebles High School (1959) and was a 9 year veteran of the United States Air Force.  Gary retired from Florida Power Company and also had worked for Columbus and Southern Ohio Electric Company.

He was preceded in death by his wife Sue Young of Lake City, FL, and brother Kay Allen Young.  He is survived by two daughters Teri (Pat) Berger of Commercial Point, and Peggy (Bobby) Leatherwood of Circleville; two step sons Doug (Laurie) Larrison of Valdosta, GA, and Chuck Bussard of Valdosta, GA; brother Jay (Dorothy) Young of Hillsboro, OH, and sister Jan (Tim) Gillespie of Troy, OH, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, and his best friend Carolyn Fisher of Circleville, also, numerous nieces and nephews.  Gary had a big heart and loved the outdoors, animals, and Lily, his feathered friend.

A memorial service will take place Saturday, October 3rd, 2015 at Village Chapel United Methodist Church, 30 Circleville Ave. Ashville, OH 43103.  The family will receive friends from 10:00am until the time of the service at 11:00am, Pastor Kevin Pees officiating.  Private interment will be held at a later date. The family requests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 1550 Old Henderson Road. Suite N-160, Columbus, OH 43220 or to the Village Chapel Ministry Building Fund (address above).  Arrangements made by the Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, Ashville, OH.
