Harold Francis (Frannie) Martin

Harold Francis Martin, age 91, of Commercial Point, OH passed away on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016 at Circleville Care and Rehab. Center in Circleville. He was born on Aug. 26, 1925 in Darbyville, Ohio to the late John W. and Lula Mae (Sauders) Martin. He retired as a mechanic with the family business working alongside his father at Martin’s Garage in Commercial Point for almost 40 years and later a school bus driver for Scioto Township School. Harold was a graduate of Scioto Township High School and served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army he served in Normandy, Northern France and Rhineland.
Harold is survived by a son, Terry (Glenda) Martin, of Circleville a granddaughter, Tracy Virgin and a great grandson Ian. He was preceded in death by a son, Roger; and brothers, Charles, Dale and Kenneth Martin.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 17, 2016 at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville with Pastor Deborah Nance officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Monday. Military Burial will follow at Beckett Cemetery in Commercial Point, OH with AMVETS Post 2256. In lieu of flowers, donations in Harold’s memory may be made to Scioto Twp. Fireman’s Assoc. for the Veterans Park, P.O.Box 204 Commercial Point, OH 43116.
