Harold Baum Tosca, 90, of South Bloomfield, OH, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016 at Mt. Carmel West Hospital. He was born Sept 3, 1926 in Dayton, OH, son of the late Vera and Qenam Tosca.
Harold was a member of South Bloomfield United Methodist Church and taught Sunday School for many years. He was also a Mason of Scottish Rite with Lockbourne Lodge. Harold served in the US Navy during World War II travelling throughout the Pacific. He graduated from Ashville Harrison High School and was a longtime owner of Will W. Fischer and Son Wholesale Produce (where he said he tried to retire for 25 years). He served as Mayor of South Bloomfield. He loved his family, sports, golf, cars and being mischievous.
He is survived by his loving children, Nancy (Bill) Edwards, Sandra (Larry) Carns, Tim (PJ) Tosca; grandchildren, Aaron (Jamie) Carns, Patrick (Joanna) Carns, Ryan Edwards, Emily Edwards, Kelsey Tosca, Ben Tosca; 2 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, twin brother Gene and a sister Joan Roby.
A remembrance gathering will be held on Dec. 28, 2016 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville, OH 43103.
Per his request, a private graveside service and interment will be in Harrison Township Cemetery in South Bloomfield, OH at a later date for family only.
