Harry Edward Pettry, age 77, of Ashville, passed away April 20, 2016 at his home.  He was born Mar. 22, 1939 to the late Harry and Opal Pettry in Kayford, WV.  Harry was in the US Army from 1960-63 and worked as a coal miner and truck driver.  He was a member of the So. Bloomfield VFW post 7941.

Harry is survived by his wife Jacqueline Pettry; sons, James (Christine) Pettry of Plain City, OH and Jeff Pettry of Clendenin, WV; daughters, Angie (Greg) Schoolcraft of Virginia Beach, VA and Joy Brooke Pettry of Spencer, WV; sisters, Marceline Pettry Nida of NC and Marie Pettry

Hamrick of GA; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren;  3 step children; 7 step grandchildren; 6 step great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  The family would like to thank Mount Carmel Hospice for the excellent care of Harry.

Visitation will be held Monday, April 25 from 12-2 at the Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville, Ohio with funeral to follow at 2:00pm.  Interment will follow at Beckett Cemetery in Commercial Point, OH.  In lieu of flowers memorial gifts can be made to the Scioto Township Fire Department EMS 25 Harsh Alley, Commercial Point, OH 43116.
