Hinton S. Waites

Hinton S. Waites, 92 of Ashville, OH passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2025 in Circleville, OH.  He was born on September 30, 1932 in Circleville, OH.  He was raised in The Pickaway County Children’s Home until The John Lamon Family took him in.  He served in the U.S. Army during peacetime stationed in Texas and later worked in Maintenance at DuPont for 25 years. He used to help local farmers milk cows and bale hay.  He was a Big gardener especially known for his tomatoes.

Hinton is preceded in death by his wife Levonda A. (Leigh) Waites in 1997; brothers Tom and Harry Waites; sister Hazel Waites.

He is survived by son Robert Lee Waites and daughter Carol Ann (John) Wysong; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 18th from 12 p.m. noon until time of Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville with Chaplain Jim Ferrell officiating.
