Howard D. Conley, 89 of Ashville, OH passed away on Monday, October 5, 2026 at Logan Elm Healthcare in Circleville, OH. He was born on December 16, 1936 to the late Denny and Marjorie (Blanton) Conley in Paintsville, KY. He was a 1956 graduate of Oil Springs High School and had worked in the oil/gas well business throughout Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Ohio. He was employed by CSX Railroad for 35 years as a pipe fitter/mechanic retiring in 1999. He had also owned and operated C and P Well Drilling working with water wells. He enjoyed family and golfing.
Besides his parents, Howard was preceded in death by brother Connie B. Conley; sister Cynthia Conley and sister-in-law Sharon Conley.
He is survived by wife of 68 years Christene (Pennington) Conley; children Judy and Charles Moore of Ashville, Tammy and Doug Aldenferfer of Lockbourne, Terry and Darrell Braskett of Ashville and Howard Stephen and Dawna Conley of Circleville; grandchildren Ashley and Eric Cotton of Circleville, Chad and Kelsey Moore of Grove City, Tanya and Robbie Sturgell of Chillicothe, Joel and Katie Braskett of North Carolina, Kyle and Tiffany Braskett of Marysville, Brooke Aldenderfer of Circleville, Kirstin and Alex Lanning of Chillicothe, Dalton Conley of Circleville and Jesse Conley of Circleville; great grandchildren Joelyn, Camden, Brady, Miles, Averyanna, Scarlett, Denver, Aspyn, Gage, Kros, and Kendyl, Troy and Silas; brothers Michael and Charolette Conley, Winfrey and Pauline Conley; sister-in-law Ann Conley of KY.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, October 8th and from 10-11 a.m. on Friday, October 9th prior to Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Leon Stevens at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville, OH 43103. Interment will follow at Reber Hill Cemetery, Ashville.
