Listen to Obituary

James Lloyd Arnold, 63,  of Parker, Colorado passed away at his home on Monday, June 6, 2016.  He was born on July 22, 1952 in Glendale, WV to the late James Lee and Marion Francis (Diggs) Arnold.  Jim had retired from Federal Express with over 30 years of service, was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps during Vietnam, and a graduate of Walnut Ridge H.S. in Columbus in 1970.   He was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous and had celebrated 20 years of sobriety in September.

Preceded in death by a brother Joseph.   Jim is survived by his wife of 11 years,  Darcy L. Pennington Arnold; sons, Joshua (Megan) Arnold of Westerville, Max William Arnold and Cory James Arnold, both of Columbus; step-daughter Tawni (Michael) Scaccia of Parker, Colorado; 4 grandchildren, Kierra and Christian Scaccia and Ellie and Zoey Arnold; brothers, John (Gay) Arnold of Gillette, Wyoming and Jeff (Debbie) Arnold of Wimauma, Florida and niece Abby Arnold of Gillette; mother-in-law, Mary Cremeans of Circleville; sister-in-law, Marsha (Lee) Johnson of St. Cloud, Florida, and brother-in-law, Rich (Pam) Cremeans of Galatin, Tennessee, his Aunt Bobby (who he loved like a mother) Rietenbach of Lewis Center, Ohio, nieces and numerous cousins.

Jim will be missed by his special friends with whom he and Darcy spent so much of their time when living in Ohio, his AA friends, and his co-workers at Federal Express.  Jim spent the last seven years of his life in Gillette, Wyoming and Parker, Colorado.  His fondest memories were summers he spent camping and fly fishing with his parents, siblings, and extended family in Wyoming, Montana, and Colorado.  It was those memories that persuaded him to request a transfer from Ohio.  He had great hopes of continuing that tradition with his wife, however, only six months after moving to Wyoming he developed serious health issues and that dream was never realized.  He accepted that with dignity by often repeating an AA adage, ‘you can plan the plan but not the result’.
