James Martin Burgess

James Martin Burgess 62 of Columbus, passed away on Sat. March 7, 2015 unexpectedly at his home. He was born on Oct. 23, 1952 in Logan, WV to the late Andrew and Katherine Belle (Maynard) Burgess. He had retired from Dove Cabinetry in Columbus after a number of years. Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Preceded in death by his wife Barbara Lynn (Williams) June 20, 2013; brothers, Darrell Bobby, Billy, Randy; sister Linda. He is survived by a daughter Lori Ann (Randy) Burgess-Bell of Columbus; brothers, Jerry (Violet) Burgess of Ashville and Michael (Barb) Burgess of Maryville; mother-in-law Margaret Williams; grandchildren, Randi Alexia “Lilbit”, Rylee Caitlyn, and Colton James; sister-in-law, Teresa Burgess; numerous nieces and nephews; many friends. The family will receive friends on Tues. March 10, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. at the Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville with a Graveside Service at 11:00 a.m. Wed. March 11, 2015 in Harrison Township Cemetery, So. Bloomfield with Rev. Bob Elliott officiating.
