James T. Curry, 78 of South Bloomfield, OH passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at Columbus Alzheimer’s Care Center in Columbus, OH.  James was born on December 9, 1945 to the late James H. and Lydia (Whitt) Curry in Delbarton, Mingo County, WV.  James was a 1964 graduate of Burch High School and retired as a Maintenance Technician. He and his wife Rema had a music ministry for over 40 years and traveled throughout West Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio known as Gods Praise Singers. He was a member of the Pentecostal Shield of Faith Church on E. Innis Ave. Columbus, Ohio

Besides his parents, he is preceded by sisters Molly and Phyllis Curry, and brothers Kenny and Fred Curry

James is survived by his wife of 58 years Rema G. (Bailey) Curry; son James T. Curry II; daughter Shena (Matt) Preston; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother Harold Ray (Brenda) of Cleveland, OH and sisters Elizabeth (Wheeler) Estepp of Morgantown, WV, Donna Sue Murphy and Mickie Hupp both of Greenup, KY, and Betty Canterbury of Leesburg, FL.

At the request of family, cremation will take place and a Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 13th at the Ole Time Freewill Baptist Church, 9784 Picway Rd. Lockbourne, OH.
