Jean J. (Jackson) Siriano of Ashville, Ohio, passed away on March 1, 2025, at the age of 89, at Carolyn’s Cottage in Grove City, Ohio. Jean leaves a lasting impression on countless lives, from being a loving guide and example for her children and grandchildren, teaching for over 30 years, and serving others in church and in her community. Many will remember her for her positive attitude and words of encouragement, her devotion to both family and friends, and her unwavering love for the Lord.
Jean was born Jean Agnes Jackson on August 24, 1935, to Clarence and Vivian Jackson, in Bolivar, New York. She graduated from high school in 1953, attended Bible college in Rhode Island and toured with a musical trio, singing Gospel music throughout New England. She met her future husband, Joe Siriano, in college and married in 1957. After raising three boys, she attended Ohio State University, earning a Master’s Degree in Education. She taught elementary and middle school (art and science) for 30 years. After she retired, she continued to teach little ones at her church, where she often blessed the faithful with her beautiful voice.
Besides her parents, Jean is preceded in death by husband Joseph Ulisse Siriano (March 22, 1987); brothers Paul (Ida) Jackson and Don (Elizabeth) Jackson, and sister Sue (Hal) Porter.
She is survived by sisters Gail (Joe) Ayers and Merinell (Rick) Vargas); sons Michael Blaine (Chris) Siriano of Groveport, Anthony Mark (Rachel) Siriano of Grandview, and Rocco Joseph (Janet) Siriano of Lancaster; grandchildren Nina (Patrick), Sasha, Sabrina, Maria (Phillip) and Anna (Joe); along with many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W Main St, Ashville, OH 43103, on Friday, March 7, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A service will be held immediately thereafter, with Pastor Todd Hautala officiating from 1 to 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Reber Hill Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to a later gathering at the South Bloomfield Methodist Church Fellowship behind the church, 5027 West 2nd St., South Bloomfield, Ohio 43103.
