Jon Dee Carnahan

Jon Dee Carnahan, 83, of Portsmouth, OH, passed away on August 21, 2026, at his residence. He was born on September 3, 1942, in Pomeroy, OH to the late Maurice and Betty (Warner) Carnahan. Before moving to Portsmouth, he lived in Ashville, OH and worked around the Columbus area as a heavy equipment operator. Jon had a special place in his heart for animals, especially dogs, having rescued several throughout his lifetime.

He is survived by his aunt, Dolores Hartness of Chester, OH; companion, Lucille Reichelderfer of Portsmouth; as well as several cousins and dear friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, wife, Cindy (Young) Carnahan, several aunts, uncles and cousins.

At Jon’s request, there will be no funeral services and burial will take place at Harrison Township Cemetery in Ashville, OH. Arrangements have been entrusted to Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, Ashville, OH and condolences can be offered online at olivercheekfuneralhome.com.
