Listen to Obituary

Joyce Ann Boldoser Hedges, 92,born November 7, 1933, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 23, 2026. She passed peacefully after a day of visits and calls from her loving family.

Joyce Hedges was born in Circleville, Ohio to Charles Boldoser and Marie Riggin Boldoser. She graduated from Pickaway High School in 1951.

A mother, grandmother, and friend, Joyce lived a life characterized by selfless love and faith. She dedicated many years to raising her children and watching many, many sporting events, working at Manna Pro in Circleville, and serving at church in many different roles. Her hobbies included reading, sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening, baking, bowling, and volunteering. She was a faithful member of Hedges Chapel and later Village Chapel Churches where she served as a Sunday School teacher and loved to sew, knit and crochet hundreds (if not thousands) of hats for both Operation Christmas Child to send gifts around the world and Touching Little Lives to benefit preemies at Children's Hospital. As a woman of few words but infinite deeds, she let her life be her testimony.

Joyce is survived by her cherished children, daughters Heidi Brannan (Michael) of Ashville, Andrea Koch (Todd) of Ashville, stepsons Wesley Hedges (Bobbie Jo) of Tiffin, David Hedges (Hildie) of Sierra Vista, AZ, and Daniel Hedges (Susan) of Westerville; her adored grandchildren, Tiffanie Demasters (Josh), Josh Hedges (Kimberly), Julia Nelson, Amanda Wasdick (Daniel), Jacob Hedges (Felicia), Timothy Hedges, Philip Hedges, Simon Hedges, Zack Pierce, Leah Doyle (Steve), Shaun Hedges, Matthew Hedges, Allison Hedges, Nate Anderson (Amy), Seth Anderson (Candace), Jordan Brannan, Jenna Carlson (Eric), Jade Brannan, Mason Koch, Jensen Koch and 20 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brother, Charles Boldoser (Rena), and numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Boldoser and Marie Riggin, her sisters, Betty Boldoser and Mary Evans (Bill), her brother Ned Boldoser (Connie), along with her stepchildren Thomas and Cynthia Hedges.

She lived a life translated into action. From her years with the Stylish Stitchers 4-H club and the Grange to her diligent work at the election polls, she served her community with a 'meek and quiet spirit.' An avid reader of thousands of books and a gifted creator in knitting, sewing, and crocheting, her legacy is woven into the many lives she touched. Whether through a shared game at card club, a strike at the bowling alley, or a picture taken and shared she loved either being a part of the game or a spectator.

A "Celebration of Life" service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026,11 am at Village Chapel-30 Viking Way, Ashville, OH with Kevin Pees officiating.
