Jules M. Henson, age 68, of Orient, Ohio, passed away on September 3, 2025, at Mount Carmel Hospital in Grove City.
Born to the late Harold Raymond and Elizabeth Ann (Erckert) Henson of Ashville, Ohio on March 12, 1957, Jules was a hardworking man who found great joy in the simple, meaningful parts of life. He spent many years farming—something he truly loved—and had a deep affection for his dogs, his horse and the Cleveland Browns. Jules dedicated more than four decades to his craft as an iron worker and was a proud member of Iron Workers Local Union #172.
In addition to his parents, Jules was preceded in death by his infant brother, Hans Evan Henson; mother of his children, Jeanne; and mother-in-law, Joyce Hirth.
He is survived by his wife, Linda (Hirth); children, Katie Henson, Ryan (Charity) Henson, Ellen (J.R.) Schmidt and Jared Shade; grandchildren, Keegan, Ava, Keaton, Willow and Aubrey; brothers, Harold “Champ” (Abigail) Henson, Lance Henson and Adam Henson; and father-in-law, Charles Hirth; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.
Family will receive friends on Monday, September 8 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home 420 W. Main St. Ashville, OH 43103 followed by a graveside service on Tuesday, September 9 at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Cemetery, 14220 Era Rd, Mt Sterling, OH 43143 with Pastor Randy Locker officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Teays Valley High School FFA. Donations can be mailed to Teays Valley Local School District, 385 Viking Way Ashville, OH 43103. Please include a note indicating “FFA” as the recipient of your donation.
